Simon Mburu
Chairman
Simon Mburu is a seasoned finance and administration professional with over 20 years of experience spanning financial management, operations, logistics, procurement, budgeting, human resources, and general administration. He has held senior roles in leading institutions, including the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), University of Washington/KEMRI, Aga Khan University Hospital, and most recently served as the Finance and Administration Director at Partners in Health Research and Development (PHRD).
Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an MBA in International Business from United States International University (USIU). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), and holds a certification in leadership and management from the University of Washington.

Gladys Kalimi
Vice Chairman
Gladys Kalimi joined the Board in April 2018 and currently serves as the Head of Human Resources and Administration for Concern Worldwide – Kenya, Somalia & Somaliland. She brings over 15 years of experience, with more than a decade in senior management roles across HR and organizational development.
She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Sociology, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management. Gladys is also pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Governance. As a Board Director, she plays a key role in strengthening internal governance through policy development and compliance, particularly in areas such as credit management and staff recruitment, helping ensure long-term sustainability and protection of shareholder interests.

Patrick Alubbe
Secretary
Patrick Alubbe is the Executive Director of the Kenya Water for Health Organization (KWAHO) and brings over 30 years of experience in water engineering, sanitation, and organizational leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Water Engineering and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership (MOL). Patrick is a registered member of the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK) and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Kenya.
His extensive career includes 12 years as Regional Director at Water.org East Africa, where he led innovative, market-based WASH financial solutions across the region, including Ethiopia. He has also served in key technical and leadership roles at SANA International, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and bilateral programs between the Kenyan and Dutch governments.
Recognized globally, Patrick was named one of the 50 most impactful leaders in water and water management in 2016. He currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) in Geneva, the KEWASNET Governing Council, and the Kimisitu Investment Board, where he contributes his deep expertise in water governance, sustainable development, and institutional strategy.

Jennifer Musyoki
Board Member
Jennifer Musyoki was appointed to the Kimisitu Investment Board during the 8th Annual General Meeting in 2019. She is an accomplished Accountant and Administration professional with over 10 years of experience in finance, administration, logistics, procurement, and project management.
Jennifer holds a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University (UK), is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA II), and has additional qualifications including a Diploma in Business Administration and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business. She has also received specialized training in Financial Management from the University of Washington and in Economics from the World Bank Institute.
Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail have enabled her to consistently deliver high-quality financial and administrative services, making her a valuable asset to the Board and to the long-term growth and governance of the company.

Elijah Kiema
Board Member
Elijah Kiema joined the Kimisitu Investment Board in April 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Soil, Water, and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Project Planning and Management, both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He is also a graduate member of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
Elijah currently serves as the WASH Coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse – Kenya programs, bringing valuable expertise in sanitary engineering, water construction, community water resource management, project planning, water governance, and hygiene technologies. His technical background and field experience contribute significantly to the company’s strategic oversight and sustainability goals.

Duncan Okubasu
Board Member
Duncan Okubasu is a seasoned Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist with over fifteen years of experience in Kenya’s public health sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management from Kenya Methodist University and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Duncan currently serves as the Strategic Information Lead at the Center for International Health, Education, and Biosecurity (CIHEB) Kenya, where he oversees data-driven strategies to enhance the effectiveness of health programs. As a founding shareholder of Kimisitu Investment Company, he brings strategic foresight, professional excellence, and a strong commitment to sustainable growth, anchored in the values of integrity, transparency, and responsible leadership.

Justa Mwangi
Board Member
Justa Mwangi joined the Kimisitu Investment Board in April 2023. She is a seasoned expert in public policy, strategic management, and communications, with over 30 years of experience advising governments, multinational corporations, and non-profits on strategic planning and leadership.
She holds a Bachelor of Education in English Language from Moi University, a Master of Science in Public Relations from the University of Stirling (UK), and recently completed her PhD in Public Policy and Management at Kenyatta University. Justa is also an alumna of the Strategic Leadership Development Programme by the Kenya School of Government.
Her career includes senior leadership roles both regionally and internationally, having served as Public Relations Manager for Del Monte and SABMiller PLC, Head of External Relations for a major global program under the Wellcome Trust, and as a Member of the County Executive Board in Embu County Government. Justa brings strategic insight and governance experience that strengthens the Board’s capacity for long-term growth and stakeholder engagement.

Philip Mutisya Nzioki
Board Member
Philip Mutisya Nzioki joined the Kimisitu Investment Board in May 2023. He is a seasoned professional in program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, budgeting, advocacy, and proposal development, with over 15 years of experience working with both international and local NGOs.
Currently serving as a Senior Program Officer at the Centre for Health Solutions, Philip also holds directorship roles in Countryside Developers, Palace Steamz, and Masinga Magic Supplies Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Moi University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health at JKUAT. He has also undergone extensive training in leadership and governance.
Philip brings a strong blend of programmatic expertise and governance insight to the Board, contributing to the effective oversight, growth, and sustainability of Kimisitu Investment.
