BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Simon Mburu is a seasoned finance and administration professional with over 20 years of experience spanning financial management, operations, logistics, procurement, budgeting, human resources, and general administration. He has held senior roles in leading institutions, including the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), University of Washington/KEMRI, Aga Khan University Hospital, and most recently served as the Finance and Administration Director at Partners in Health Research and Development (PHRD).

Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an MBA in International Business from United States International University (USIU). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), and holds a certification in leadership and management from the University of Washington.

Patrick Alubbe is the Executive Director of the Kenya Water for Health Organization (KWAHO) and brings over 30 years of experience in water engineering, sanitation, and organizational leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Water Engineering and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership (MOL). Patrick is a registered member of the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK) and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Kenya.

His extensive career includes 12 years as Regional Director at Water.org East Africa, where he led innovative, market-based WASH financial solutions across the region, including Ethiopia. He has also served in key technical and leadership roles at SANA International, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and bilateral programs between the Kenyan and Dutch governments. Recognized globally, Patrick was named one of the 50 most impactful leaders in water and water management in 2016. He currently serves on several international and national steering committees and contributes his deep expertise in water governance, sustainable development, and institutional strategy.

CPA, CS Timothy Mabeta Kambuni is a seasoned corporate leader with over 20 years of experience in financial management, governance, and operational excellence across public and private sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Commerce from Strathmore University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and Certified Secretary (CS-K). His career includes transformative roles such as Chief Officer of Administration and Corporate Services for Kisii County Government, and Manager of Corporate Support Services at the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. He has also served on the Finance and Strategy Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), underscoring his commitment to advancing governance and institutional integrity. Timothy was elected as a Director of Kimisitu Investment Company PLC during the 15th Annual General Meeting held on 7th March 2026.

Currently working at University of Nairobi, Jennifer Musyoki is an Accountant with background in Finance, Administration and Procurement. She is an expert in financial management and project management with over 13 years’ experience of providing comprehensive high-quality finance, administration and procurement services.

Jennifer Musyoki holds a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University (UK), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business, Diploma in Business Administration. In addition, she has been trained in Financial Management by University Washington and in Economics by World Bank Institute. Jennifer Musyoki is a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).

Elijah Kiema joined the Kimisitu Investment Board in April 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Soil, Water, and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Project Planning and Management, both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He is also a graduate member of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).

Elijah currently serves as the WASH Coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse – Kenya programs, bringing valuable expertise in sanitary engineering, water construction, community water resource management, project planning, water governance, and hygiene technologies. His technical background and field experience contribute significantly to the company’s strategic oversight and sustainability goals.

Duncan Okubasu is a seasoned Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist with over fifteen years of experience in Kenya’s public health sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management from Kenya Methodist University and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Duncan currently serves as the Strategic Information Lead at the Center for International Health, Education, and Biosecurity (CIHEB) Kenya.

As a founding shareholder of Kimisitu Investment Company, he brings strategic foresight, professional excellence, and a strong commitment to sustainable growth, anchored in the values of integrity, transparency, and responsible leadership.

Fred Wamalwa, (PhD) is a visionary Strategy Director and Non-Executive Director with over 20 years of experience in shaping corporate direction. He has proven expertise in strategy development, analytical insights, management and execution, corporate governance and risk oversight, and growth and innovation. Fred is adept at balancing fiduciary duty with innovative, risk-aware decision-making to secure long-term profitability. He has held senior responsibilities in international organisations including European Union/Ministry of Devolution and Planning and Civil Society. Currently serves as Strategy Development and Business Management Consultant and Lecturer at Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Dr. Wamalwa holds a PhD in Economics of Development (Jomo Kenya University of Agriculture and Technology, Nairobi), MBA (Moi University, Eldoret), MSc (Wageningen, Netherlands), and BSc Hons (University of Nairobi, Kenya). He is a member of Kenya Institute of Management, Development Studies Association (UK), International Association of Community Development (UK), holds a certification in Corporate Centre of Corporate Governance (Nairobi) and currently pursuing Project Management certification - PMI®(USA).

George Kituku Kitheka is a strategic leader with over 15 years of experience in program management, governance, and systems strengthening, with a focus on improving institutional performance, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Moi University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi. He has also undertaken professional training in Monitoring and Evaluation, Implementation Science, Economic Evaluation, and Leadership and Management. George currently serves as County Team Lead at CIHEB-Kenya, where he provides strategic oversight in program implementation and works closely with government systems to strengthen performance, accountability, and sustainability through practical, data-informed approaches. He has a strong interest in investment strategy, digital transformation, and the development of resilient, future-ready institutions.
